Our mission: To accelerate the transition to a sustainable planet
The biggest challenge we currently face as humanity is keeping our natural environment in balance. The extraordinary technological developments of the past century have increased our impact on global natural processes to such an extent that our way of life has become seriously threatened. Global warming will have irreversible consequences if we don’t act quickly: severe weather changes, rising sea levels, mass emigration from natural disaster areas and food shortages are just some of them. There are different ways of dealing with this challenge: (1) we continue doing what we’re doing and manage the consequences as they emerge, (2) we radically switch off fossil fuel production and deal with the resulting energy shortages or (3) we take serious measures to stop the increase of greenhouse gasses to ensure that the global rise in temperature is kept within the “safe” limits that allow nature and modern human society to survive without catastrophes. Fizzy Transition Ventures believes in realizing a smooth transition from fossil to sustainable energy sources by building on the foundations of the current energy infrastructure. The company’s team of experienced, creative professionals delivers innovative concepts for the redevelopment of obsolete oil and gas facilities by taking a fresh new look at oil and gas fields, wells, platforms, and pipelines. For example: it is possible to use empty offshore oil and gas fields for permanent storage of the CO2 that will inevitably be generated to satisfy demand for energy, food, and other products during the transition period between now and 2050. This is the quickest and most realistic way to take a big step to limit global warming with a measurable positive effect on the atmosphere. But there are also other ways to make use of the same infrastructure: we see possibilities for increasing the efficiency of offshore wind parks, for producing sustainable biomass and for restoring ocean life in the waters surrounding the platforms. Our concepts are economically sound, realistic, and safe but at the same time they serve a higher goal, namely to build a world where clean energy is available to everyone and where people have a higher quality of life than we do today.
We can actively contribute to three of them:
Let’s focus our attention on creating solutions and let the sceptics argue amongst themselves:
Global warming is real: 97% of scientists agree. And more importantly: “waiting to see what happens if we don’t do anything about it is a stupid experiment”. Watch Elon Musk’s presentation at the COP21 in Paris for a convincing plea.
